Ugh...Ads

How can I get those silly ads from google off my postings???? I'm not a techy in any way.
Binty

Hey Jon

I dont think you can, from what I can see they just move to the last posting. So now they should be in my posting and not yours (if you see what I mean) Very Happy
murdo

Lets see if this works, Ilike ...doing this
"thinking hard...George Clooney is going to read this and give me his telephone number "

Voila...you dont have an ad any more
Binty

I think it's a spot of trouble from moving to a new 'home' recently. Hopefully they'll be sorted out soon. Martin, where are you??

If it means a faster forum for free I don't mind.......... Razz Smile

Oh good...then I know I'm not the lame one. I just didn't like the ads about singles on my postins...LOL

Thanks all!

PS Y'all aren't as stuffy as some of the peeps on the TKGA bb, which is where I met my bud, Deb the Brit and of course Jacquie the ExPat.
Auntie Noo

There has to be a quip here about being stuffy - but I just quite place it!!! Laughing Laughing
jacquie

We are not at all stuffy here Very Happy

If you see any really questionable ads though we can report them to the host who does act on these things.

I suspect talk of weddings brings out the dating ads - they are very context sensitive. You will notice that a lot of them are for yarn and other draft supplies.

ETA see I got a bit of a dodgy ad then!
Jobo

Some of them are making me laugh Very Happy

All i seem to get is Irish d a t i n g ads..... why Irish I wonder?

If ads are the price we have to pay for a new home and a place to meet - I don't care at all who advertises what!!!!! In the old days of the forum when it was a South West area forum we had some VERY interesting ads at first - especially at night.

I'm sure that soon we won't even notice them!
Catknit

There's an ad at the top which keeps coming up for Older Women Pics at agematch.com, are they trying to tell me something? I know I hit 40 in November but I think thats a bit harsh Evil or Very Mad
murdo

Do you think if I keep mentioning George Clooney it will come up with ads for buying his telephone number?????
melody yarns

i've seen britney and a rather apt 'why does my eye twitch?' ad from binty's post lol....so maybe some are more helpful than others Laughing
Binty

Oh I missed that ad!!!
KnittingLadybird

not that helpful then lol
Jon the Yank

Wow...to think that y'all have gotten oodles of enjoyment out of my rather naive question about the spam ads.

I wonder what is going to show up now on my posting? Maybe something about breast enhancements?

Shocked
melody yarns

Well it showed up as 'timewasters paradise' to me - blummin cheek *tut*
murdo

I've got under my latest knitting knatter post "date older women!
modelwidow

I hadn`t read this thread earlier, so when on my first post the ad "Bored with work?" came up - I was a bit spooked - how on earth did they know  Shocked  Rather relieved to find the bosses hadn`t set the techies on me after all
