Twist & Shout KnitalongBeen reading the thread in Pitstop about the new Fall 08 Knitty, and several people (myself included) have been keen on Twist & Shout. So, anyone up for a KAL?
I need to get a couple of things finished first but hopefully I'll be able to cast on in the next couple of weeks or so. I've got some oatmealy aran (purchased from the lovely Melody) that I think would be perfect for it
Anyone care to join me?

Methinks Knitfactor's about to give away her identity - tee hee
I shall join in, but not until December-ish time.

Potentially I am up for this, but not just yet.

Oooh ooooh oooh...I want to knit this! I think it's luverrley! Trouble is I don't know what size to knit! It says if in doubt go small...I'll have to do some measuring! I'm a bit put off by the amount of yarn needed though! I think I'll be doing it in Stylecraft Aran with Wool?!

is it a lot of yarn then? to be honest I haven't read the pattern yet, just looked at the pretty pictures, printed it off and bunged it into a corner for later
My aran is Spectrum (I think), which is pretty much along the same lines as Stylecraft - acrylic and wool mix - me likey the price and machine-washability of that kinda thing, as you all know

hurrah, that's good - there's a fair few people up for this in the next few months and even an incognito stealth person
I think this one might be going for a while

That'll be you and me for a January kick-off then Snail!
P'raps then you'll all have sorted out sizing as well and I can just cast on without a care...

I have so much "to do next" that I really couldn't commit to this but I did print the pattern off, just in case
I have to say that I almost died when I read the yarn requirements. The smallest size (approx 33") takes 12 balls of recommended yarn where as the largest size (approx 56") takes 26 Seems a heck of a jump to me, but then I'm useless at working out quantities.

hhhm, I like this pattern, but the sizes are a bit funny. There's no way I'm a 33", but 39" would be mega-big on me.
FC, I might have to wait and see which size fits you first.

I've hit a similar problem over a couple of patterns recently, where a 32/34 would
be a bit skimpy, but a 36/38 would probably be roomier that I'd like, and I've had to play about a bit with maths, needle size and crossed fingers!

I am going to go for the second size, finished size 39. It's the size being modelled so it gives me a reasonably good idea how it might look. As for yarn it gives me a good project to use my pink Jaeger Shetland for Similar fibre mix to the Rooster Aran too.

I've just spotted that the designer herself has started a KAL on Ravelry - here, so she's around there to answer questions which is great!
Here's what she's put up about sizing, apparently it's a very stretchy knit
Size A - 28-34 inches (71-86cm)
Size B - 36-42 inches (91-106cm)
Size C - 44-50 inches (111-127cm)
Size D - 52-58 inches (132-147cm)
She also says she made the second size and she's a 41/42 inch bust. Hope that helps - it's certainly helped me, I'm a 34 and I'll be going for the smallest size
Edited to add - doh! I've ONLY just realised that she's Robynn that runs Purlescence

Thanks FatCat that's very helpful

That link was v useful FC
Interesting about the size, and if you read all of the posts, Robynn is really, really stressing the stretchiness and encouraging people to go smaller.
Thought I might also copy what some others have done, and copy and paste into word, so that there's just my size on the pattern.
Have been perusing Kemps for some bonus Aran and am waivering between two colours as to which will be more yummish - brown mix and storm something for anyone who's interested.
I'm thinking about this far too much for someone who's not casting on til Christmas

i want to do this one too, i have a sweater on the needles for me at the moment so will wait till it is finished before i cast on, i have a lot of aran in stash but not enough to quite do the smallest size, mind you i am sure i could probably find another ball or 2 on the net of whichever i choose to use.
