Twilight by Stephanie Meyers

I just finished the first in this series of books. It is to come out in a film in Dec here in the UK. I couldn't put it down until I was finished!!!

Has anyone else read them? I ordered the next 3 immediately!!

My DD has these books and has read them more than once. She keeps telling me I should read them, but haven't got round to it yet. So many books on my 'to read' list, and it keeps getting longer  Very Happy

What age is your daughter?

I was amazed how this book enthralled me, I wasn't expecting it to. The next 3 are on their way! Smile
Anna

I've read all four - I couldn't put them down!

I have heard that the film is less thoughtful than the books and more action but I may have to go an watch it and make my own mind up!

I'm on a second read of "Twilight" now.

I watched some of the trailers AFTER I had read the book it looks okay, I am usually let down by the movie from the book.............we will see. Smile

Gilraen, my DD is 15 next week.

So you think I should move it up my list  Question

I was glad that I had a whole day free to read it or I woukd have gone without sleep to finish it. It is very sweet, uncomplicated and the theme of forbidden/thwarted love evident. The last book I read to hold me like that was The 7th Harry Potter. It is a quick read too Smile
Anna

I galloped through all 4 books in about a week  Shocked  I am a fast reader though.

I too have seen the trailer for the film and I'm still reserving judgement. I have to say I'm disappointed in the looks of the actors playing the vampires. They're not bad looking for humans but it's hard to get a human with unearthly beauty, I suppose (apart from me of course  ROFL  ROFL  ROFL  ROFL )

Rob is 'growing' on me Smile I liked him as Cedric Diggory and I can 'feel' the chemistry between him and the actress playing Bella in the trailers.

On your recommendation Gilraen I have just picked this book up in Tescos, I read the first page while I was standing in the book area and wanted to carry on as I walked round the shop Laughing   It looks good already - will let you know how I get on Very Happy

I am half way through the 4th book!!! They arrived Thursday but work held me back!!! A little twee at times but great storytelling none the less. Enjoy Jo Smile

Finished Twilight a few days ago - I enjoyed it, and would definitely like to see the film.  I reckon my teenage daughters would enjoy the book and film also Very Happy

The film premieres here tonight! I've seen a very poor copy but will be joining the queues soon to see the real thing because I love the book so much. The baseball scene looks AMAZING!!!!!

The news is that this film took more money than Quantum of Solace the weekend it was released!!

WOW that looks so good!! Very Happy

I started listening to the audiobook of Twilight today in my lunch hour - I'm hooked!  Very Happy  I'm probably half-way through and want to stay up all night to finish it.  Rolling Eyes

Well, I downloaded the second book on 18th January and finished it in 2 days.  It was so good, I just couldn't put it down.  I can't wait until 18th February to download the 3rd, so I bought that at Asda tonight (£4).  It'll be worth sacrificing some knitting time to find out what happens next.   Wink   I'm hoping this will keep me going until I download the 4th book on 18th Feb.   Rolling Eyes   It's like an addiction, I just can't get enough.   Rolling Eyes

I ended up ordering the 4th book, Breaking Dawn, from Amazon because I just couldn't wait to find out what happened.  And thank goodness for snow days - it arrived on Tuesday and I finished it today.   Very Happy   It was absolutely brilliant.   Very Happy   Only thing is, I've been so wrapped up in the story and the characters that I'm almost missing them now IYKWIM.

I know exactly what you mean. The same thing happened after HP, the only relief was fanfiction............Smile
