Trying something newi scored one of Silver Viscounts cones of acrylic/wool mix at £3 (!!!) so thought I'd have a go at something I've never tried as the worst that can happen is that I'll be a couple of quid down!
So I'm going to try to crochet this sweater dress I've crocheted before as a child but never managed to follow a pattern, so this will be a huge learning curve. I have fished out my copy of the happy hooker, and printed the pattern off in US English so at least it matches the book.
Wish me luck!

I love crochet almost as much as knitting, and only restarted a few years ago having like you done it as achild and never followed any patterns. I've really enjoyed developing the skill and I'm sure you will too. I think the dress will look ovely on you.

I found the happy hooker book a great help when following patterns, I had made squares as a child but never had much luck with garments before.
Looking forward to seeing pics of your dress.
