Today I have mostly been...

In the kitchen. Inspired my PL's recent Thingmas cooking I decided to try some myself this year. So here's my efforts so far.

Christmas puds. All steamed and ready to go into hiding.

Mincemeat a la Delia. I have to say I'm not usually a fan of mincement but this tastes scrummy.

Pickled eggs.

I have have some onions being salted ready for tomorrow. I also made a fruit cake just like DH's Grandad (RIP) used to make and some of Nigella's chocolate cookies to put in the freezer.

I now have dishpan hands from all the washing up today.

Yum - they look so nice! I remember when I used to have the time to do all that Laughing

I've spent the whole afternoon doing my VAT for the last quarter and it's sent me wiggletongue - my head hurts and I could just do with a nice slice of cake and a cuppa!!

Looks good. I've done our Christmas cakes, which are buy being "fed" once a week with extra brandy. All the other Christmas cooking I'm leaving until nearer the time. This year I'm determined to take my 3 weeks off at Christmas so shall do it all the week before. Just me, an empty house, lots of ingredients and Christmas music. Bliss.

Well done! They all look wonderful - not sure about pickled eggs though!

I am just starting to remember all the things I should have done before I went back to work!

I usually make Christmas puddings - from Delia's Christmas book - must make them soon.
