Thoughts on Rowan Cotton Glace??

I seem to acquired some of this & am just wondering if anyone has used it & what they thought of it. I don't really enjoy knitting with cotton, is it the same as any other cotton or is it the best cotton you've used  Very Happy

I'm waiting for the new Rowan mag to see if anything jumps out at me, as I've not found a pattern for it yet.

I love love love this yarn.

Probably no help to you but I'm crocheting a beaded bag with  Glace at the moment.  I don't find it rough and it doesn't irritate my sensitive skin.

Debbie Abrahams uses this yan a lot in her bags, blankets and throws.

I've never knit a garment in this though so not sure how it drapes etc.. but maybe somebody else can help with that??

I haven't used it, I did have a Debbie Abrahams bag kit which I sold last year which had cotton glace in it.

Don't quote me, but I seem to rmember Pictish talking abou this yarn and not liking it very much.

You're right Joy Shocked  Laughing  Laughing Well I DID think that but I too 'acquired' some and it's such a nice colour I've kept it but it isn't a really soft cotton to my mind Confused Tho really popular in the Rowan mags. I think it might soften up when you wash it. I normally really like knitting with cotton but I don't like shiny mercerised stuff so much. I prefer the Rowan 4 ply or Handknit Cotton.

I see Rowan are bringing out a new cotton - there is a sneaky peek on the back of the latest Simply Knitting Very Happy   Rowan Pure Life - it looks nice!
