The Stocking ChallengeEveryone in our house gets a stocking.
I don't put junk in to fill it up, but I really need to be looking for little things much earlier instead of waiting for December.
Does anyone fancy a Challenge?
Or even two Challenges....
The £10 stocking, and the £5 stocking.
You have to post photos and prices.
Handmade items have to be costed in materials but not time. Knitting from stash is free.
Start haunting those charity shops now....
Should we have a prize for this one?

We do something similiar - Mum and I fill an (hollow) snowman I made with little bits for the rest of the family - small items - they are named but are pulled out one by one in a lucky dip sort of way - the kids love it

I love charity shops and have already bought a few bargains for Christmas.

I love doing the stockings, but will only have one to do this year as only DS2 will be at home.
I will join in but will do a $15.00 and a $7.00 one - not the exchange rate but approximately equivalent purchasing power.
There will be the extra challenge for me getting things suitable for a fussy 14year old boy

Are there sweets he misses from home....
Or how about a book of promises...
Stay up to midnight voucher, camping in the snow, that sort of thing.

Thanks! We can get some things at this new store just opened called World Market, and the British Shop but I'll let you know if there is anything crucial missing.

How did you get on n?

Did the washcloths, and we put some daft things in, American sweets and chewing gum we got on holiday, a jar of exotic hot chocolate for the elder one who is living in a cold flat in town, and a few other bits and pieces. Not as organised as I would like.
So I'm planning fingerless gloves for next year, starting as soon as I can muster the energy!
In fact I'm planning a Thingmas box to keep things in asap! Starting soon, before I forget that panicky feeling and get all complacent about it. Fortunately, I think my lads (all three of them ) are now full grown so I don't have to worry about things not fitting.

Oh goodness me! A lot has happened since I last looked at this thread and I totally forgot about this challenge.
DS2 did get a stocking of course but it was hard so I put things that he would need anyway like a pack of six pairs of socks, new boxers, and his Christmas supply of Mountain Dew as well as more exciting stuff like a penknife with a torch, and a cadbury's selection box
