The Jackie Album

I have been looking for this recently and all our local shops sold out of it - went to Eastbourne this afternoon and found it in HMV Very Happy

What a delight - all the old favourites, Donny Osmond, David Cassidy, The Rubettes - Terry Jacks - Seasons in the Sun - its great!!

I embarrassed my youngest DD singing along very loudly in the car on the way home.

Anyone over the age of 40 who wants to bring back their teenage or younger memories will love it Laughing

Play.com have it too Very Happy
cazzie

I had it for Christmas - Very Happy  havent listened to it yet - going to put it in the car and listen to it to and from work (only tme I get peace  Rolling Eyes )
Jobo

I know what you mean Cazzie Rolling Eyes
malteser

I had it for Christmas as well. What I love about it is that it has all the songs I used to listen to on the radio rather than the ones usually on the compilation albums.

I showed dd(14) the poster of Donny Osmond as she was watching him in Identity, and told her he was older than DH and me to which she replied that he didn't look it.
jacquie

Is that Jackie as in Jackie Magazine? - loved that when I was a girl Very Happy
Jobo

Yes thats the one Jaquie - its a compilation of all those 70's favourites.

I loved Jackie mag too - Cathy and Claire could sort every teenage girls problems out Laughing   Wonder what they are doing now??
ClaireUK

WOW - Jackie mag. That brings back memories. Remember when a kiss was a 'big deal' and there was endless discussion about 'how far nice girls went' LOL

Mmmmm.......Seasons in the Sun....loved that one. And Sealed with a Kiss. Ahh, memeories. Must get this CD. Thanks for the heads-up

Wish I had known about this before Christmas - I would have asked for the annuals and the Best of Cathie and Claire book as well as the CD set.  Oh well may be next year!
Fi

Me and my sis used to argue over who was going to read the mag first, mum would only buy us one copy, said it was daft having 2.  Might have save rows though.

We went on to My Guy after that.
jacquie

My complete magazine buying history was Treasure, Diana, Jackie, Petticoat, then Cosmopolitan, GoodHousekeeping and She.  But now it is mainly Knitting mags. Wonder what that says about me?
Fi

I still get She mag and of course knitting ones.

Quite like that Easy Living one too.
Jobo

I used to read Bunty and Diana too Very Happy
Fi

Oh don't forget Twinkle, Nana used to buy us that.
Jobo

I had a photo of my pet dog printed in Twinkle once - in the Pets Corner section - and my prize was a plastic tea set Laughing
Fi

All these famous peeps on here.

I used to love my tea sets.
jacquie

carolinne used to get Twinkle.  I don't know if she will remember this herself but one day the paperboy didn't deliver it and our Dad had to call the newsagent.  We did laugh when he exclaimed most indignantly that his Twinkle hadn't arrived.
Fi

Oh dear, bet the newsagent wondered who he had on the phone.

I would save so much cash if I bought fewer mags.
Glynis

My list has similarities Jacquie Smile  -   Jack and Jill, Princess (via June- and- Schoolfriend and Bunty) Diana, Jackie, Petticoat, Honey, 19, Cosmopolitan, Mother, Prima , Woman's Weekly. I guess next stop will be "Yours" or the Saga magazine Laughing
Fi

Funny you should mention Yours.  Mum gets it.

It had sock patterns in it the other month, she saved it for me especially.
cazzie
