Terry Pratchett books

Hi,

I've been given a couple of his books and was just wondering do they run in a particualar order or are they all stand alone ones, there not disc world ones.  Don't want to start reading then find out I have started half way through series.  I have read a couple of his before so I know that I like his writing so it wouldn't bother me if I had to buy a couple before starting to read.

I am very tempted to start reading the discworld, but was just browsing on amazon and there are so many of them  Shocked

TIA

I think it depends which books they are Cathie, some are stand alone like the Discworld series and some are part of a series Confused

Not much help am i!
There must be a Pratchett fansite that can give you a comprehnsive listing surely?

I've had a quick look and found the proper order of the disc world books, and 1 is a discworld book about half way through the series, but can't find anything as yet about the other books, the website I have found doesn't appear to have the number of books on it that amason have either.  Will have another look later on, need to take my mums dog back now.

i love the discworld books and own nearly all of them...they are unique in that you can read them in order or alone or in sections (wizards, witches, watch or death).

i haven't read any of his others apart from johnny and the bomb....but they are my fave ever books:D oook Wink

THanks for the link, will have a look in a mo, one of the books I have is a trilogy called Death.

Found out today that my dad has a collection but spaced through out the series.  Did have a quick read of one whilst I was with my dad, but decided to leave it behind in favour or Dan brown Angels and demons. Which should tide me over till I get the first one.  Would rather read from the begining than pick through them in the wrong order.

Did you know Terry Pratchett has just been diagnosed with Alzheimers?? Sad So sad to think one day he may not remember the great worlds he created in his books Sad

Heard this on the radio yesterday, such an awful thing to happen to him.  He was saying how he was having trouble typing and he was doing one finger type style, but said that his stories where still as they had been in his mind and it was affecting his motor skills more so than his memory.
