Aww thanks but I couldn't ask you to do that I will just sit and do it manually rather than use the ballwinder if there's no other way - I've tried sort of giving it a tug and letting it dangle all to no avail

Maybe you mean Mr P - he's a lot more patient than me

yeah, get Mr P to do it for you! Patience is the way, do a bit at a time. I remember the first yarn I ever bought that arrived in a skein, I had no idea how to wind it and ended up with biggest ball of yarn vomit you can imagine. It was Lion and Lamb, so pretty yarn vomit but still. Took me about 4 days to sort out, just a bit at a time otherwise I ended up getting really cross with it, and myself Bet you sort yours out far more quickly, looking forward to seeing it!

i love untangling, i find it soothing
I don't know as i could offer any advice though, i think it's just a matter of looking at the tangles and working out which way you need to go to undo it - which is probably what you're doing anyway cos that's how you undo tangles
Sorry, my brain's gone into overlaod today, it's all the excitement dontcha know

Well I've done it!! And what a mess - I've never had one like that and what's more it had 3 knots. I may not be buying from this seller again tho the yarn and colours are lovely
Thanks for the advice

When I saw the title of this thread, I thought Tangled Skein was going to be another pictish recommended yarn supplier.
I was thinking "oh noooooo!" because I thought I would be presented with dreadful temptation again.
I was really surprised when it was actually about a tangled skein

Now that could say as much about you as it does me

I had some of that tofutsies and it had 7 knots in about 400m.
oh, now I want to know where you got it from, cos I hate tangles and knots.

Good grief, that's awful And unlucky I've used Tofutsies a lot and never had a single knot. You poor thing.

oh, that's good to know.
but I also wouldn't use it for socks again, they're my only pair that developed a hole in them.

I've never had any holes in mine either you must've had a duff ball and no mistake

CJ

yep, it must have been a right duffer - lol!!

I'm sorted now but thanks Fi!!!
It's funny how some of us like it and even find it relaxing while others get really stressed out with it

I haven't bought a skein, can't believe it. I remember growing up, my mum would stick a skein over my hands and make me sit still while she wound it into a ball

Ahh maybe you don't knit with hand dyed sock yarn?? I used to get DH to help me wind my yarn like that and that's why he made me a swift
