Swallowtail is now Finished!!! Now with photosis blocking as I type.... so photos to follow later.I am so pleased with it and I'm really pleased with the colours now I've overdyed it. The colours have gone from "Lily Pond" to "Fruits of the Forest"  I know the recipient (a dear friend) will love it and that makes everything worth while...

As promised the photos.... once dry I will take some after blocking with close ups of the lace.... It really is a lovely pattern to do and a relatively quick knit... I have been doing other things as well like socks & VLT shawl but I only started it last bank holiday.....
so this as it was cast off the needles... 
then it went to this... 
I did test a sample of yarn first to make sure I liked the colour and effect... to this... 
I love how you can instantly see the lace pattern now all the colours have gone.... and finally the blocking... 
I can never get over how blocking transforms lace I'm like a little kid every time and this one with the help of DH is quick to block to, about 30 minutes it took us.... |

I can't believe the transformation - it's magical! What a brilliant idea, to overdye the exisiting coloured yarn to produce a shawl with such subtle colouring.
