Starting spinning

With all the lovely roving n has been selling recently, I decided to take the plunge and treat myself to a sublime spindle and give drop spinning a go

I had some roving and tops which I bought a while ago to use to needle felt with so I had a go using the various instructions posted here.

This was my first go nowhere near perfect but it was fun

I've also spun this

and this

I've really enjoyed it so far.

Gorgeous colours. I started spinning a week ago and I'm working on my first proper complete skein now. And I've been tempted to some more of n's roving this week. It's just too delicious. Laughing

I think you are all doing brilliantly.
It's just down to bloody minded persistence (sorry, but it is!) a little bit every day and in a week you'll have it.
It's a bit like learning to ride a bike, for ages you keep putting your feet down and the suddenly one day... you're off!

Well done Paula - they're great - I'd love to have a go but I think I need some tuition because I've got no idea at all.
