skein queen plushness......has anyone made a pair of socks using this yarn?. I am currently making a pair of tidalwaves for a friend but it seems to be coming out quite big. I made a pair for myself using n's yarn and they were the perfect fit but the plushness feels like it's going to be too baggy and i'm using the same size needles as before
so....should I try and cast on 52 stitches so that I can actually do the same pattern, cos these are what she has chosen (as well as the yarn ) or should just frog it and go with another pattern on a few less stitches????? eek don't know what to do...
although they are hand wash and i'm pretty she'll up putting them in the machine at some point....maybe a bit big won't be too bad

I've done a pair of socks in the Divine...they wash up great in the machine! The one you have is a light DK right? I have never knit DK socks before...but Ihave the Opal pattern (thanks Blue ) and that says 56 stitches on 3mm needles so I don't know what to suggest! Sorry...I am useless!

not to worry blossom, going with what you have said and a little math (yeah right lol) I'm going to try the less stitches method..i'm currently using 64 stitches so I think each 'pattern' on the tidal waves is 8 sts....that should leave me with 56sts you said. I like how the yarn feels knitted on the 2.5mm though....or I could try 2.75mm.
I'm sure I never used to be this bad

Plushness is the same as Posh Emily and I do find I need to adjust the stitches for socks in these. I am currently knitting Monkeys (no purl) with 56 stitches and a 14 stitch instead of 16 stitch pattern. I'm on the toe of the second one and they knit up really quickly, pics on Ravelry. I love this yarn to bits, wearing them is a real treat!!! BTW I always use 2.75mm needles with this yarn
Good luck Linz

Thanks you really lovely peeps i've cast on over 56stitches and on 2.75mm and they now look a lot better
My other slight problem is that she is a y 4 and a half which is well tiny compared to my clod hoppers...how long is a 4 and a half foot?

aw cheers Blossom I take a size 7 (if it's a wide shoe lol) so there's no hope of me guessing on my feet!
These are going to be quite quick socks methinks

Well....if you find you like knitting small socks you can always give them to me!! I do find once I start turning the heel it does go alot quicker with my socks!!
