Regia Sock Wool - does it REALLY last 10 years? :-)

My very first socks - in Opal Magic are just starting to go at the toe Sad I made them 2 years ago and they have had LOADS of wear. But I've never made any with Regia wool (I tend to prefer Opal for some reason) and was just wondering if they really do last longer? - they have that 10 year guarantee don't they.

My oldest pair of Regia are two years old & they're like new if that helps.

My very first pair of socks were knitted with Regia about 5 years ago and they are in better condition than some of my newer socks.

They get a lot of wear too!

all my pairs of regia felted, and DS wore his through at the toe after a few weeks!!!  LOL

My Regia socks have felted slightly on the underside... but then I do hammer them in my Scarpas all winter  Shocked

The socks I knitted in Online haven't withstood wthe rigours of washing so well though as they are quite rough and have lost some of their colour. A pity really as they were knitted in the Kim pattern by Jeannie Townsend with lace and cabley bits. Ho hum  Sad

My Regia's and Opal are all okay so far.

I walk round in stocking feet all the time too.

When I wash them I put them in one of those net bags don't know if this helps.

I do the same Fi when they go in the machine. Sometimes I wash them by hand.
Fi

By hand!!!!

I never wash anything by hand, says me who used to make my mum wash my lingerie by hand before we got married.

Our machine does have a wool wash though ( I insisted).

So did I! Laughing We have a Platinum Woolmark Approved one that does hand wash only woolies beautifully! Smile
