Posh Emily yardageHas anybody got a pair of normal length socks out of this or do you need to make ankle socks  It's supposed to be 330m and if you knit on 2.75mm that should be enough for a small size 4 pair - I use about 280m of Opal on 2.5mm. Have just frogged a pair as I am worried they won't work out. Actually when I weighed my skeins, 2 were 95g and the one I frogged only 90g

I have knitted a pair of monkeys with plenty or yarn to spare (56 stitches/2.75mm dpns/and a 4" cuff) I may have enough to knit a little pair for my 5 year old, I certainly could have knit a longer cuff easily!
Emily has 360 yards per 100g which is much more than eg Jitterbug and knits to almost the same gauge, in my small experience.

These were the socks I made with one skein of Emily - the leg is 4 inches long and I used every last little bit of yarn. I used 2.75mm needles and they're an adult size 6.
They're okay but just feel a bit on the short side - I'm hoiking them up all the time coz I like my socks to be 7-8 inches in the leg.

Mine is in Stormy Sea!! Didn't I get it from you?? Have a look on Ravelry, They are done but I've to take a picture of the 2 completed socks. There is one finished on my projects page, I will put up a pic here too when I get enough light to take a photo that is!

Ah Linda they would probably be ok for me tho I normally do the cuff a BIT longer. What pattern is that - it's gorgeous!!
Gil - you DID get it from me - I bought 2 skeins and it's a gorgeous colour isn't it  I'll go and have a look on rav - must have missed them somehow

I knit a pair of cowgirl slipper socks in mine and had loads left over but they're short anklets. I wish I hadn't used 2.5mm needles though cos the socks are so stiff they almost stand up on their own.
