Pattern help please

I've spend the last couple of nights looking for a free sock patten and I think I'm going nuts with looking at so much that I thought I'd see if anyone can point me somewhere.

I've got some 4 ply wool and could either do stripy or plain colour. I've got some 2.5 and 3mm dpns. I'd like to do something different from the two pairs I've done (which were the free sock patterns from Web of Wool) maybe ribby? but it needs to be fairly simple as I want to be able to knit and do other things at the same time (such as watch the rugby tomorrow!) and much as I've done all sorts of complicated things in the past, I want something that I don't have to constantly refer to a pattern.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Jaywalkers!

These were the first pattern I tried after doing plain socks and it is really easy and really effective and it's one of the best fitting socks I've ever knitted...I'm knitting my third pair now! Smile

I was going to suggest tidalwave PDF but these were designed with circs. I think it's do-able with dpns and it's just one of those pqtterns that follows, so you can see the pattern iyswim.

if you want ribby socks all you have to do is cast on as normal and instead of knitting every row k2 p2 every row or k3 p2 or whatever rib you fancy, that should make you able to watch the rugby aswell

If you opt for Jaywalkers remember that the fabric you create will be quite tight, so you may need to use bigger needles than usual.
Apart from that, Blossom is absolutely right, it is a lovely pattern.

I can also recommend Monkey Socks from Knitty, the pattern is so easy I know it in my sleep. Smile
