On a roll... I bought this a few month ago, it is 50% baby camel/50% mulberry silk, very soft and pretty but not so easy to spin with, which is why I shoved it back in the bag for a few months But after the sucess I had with the maroony/pink merino I decided to try again And this is the result.......
And a close up
As I say it's not easy to spin which explains the bumpy bit I had thought about dyeing it but have decided against that, now that it has been plied it seems to have taken on a lovely beigey glow, so I think this desrves to be an undyed scarf

Oooh, yum!
How difficult was the mulberry silk to spin with?

I thought it had bumps cos its camel hair???????? (humps=bumps???)
Was the camel/silk carded together or did you spin them separately and then ply them together? Its beautiful yarn.

Natalie, yes I bought it at TFC, a few months ago when I was there doing a class which if my memory is correct, was for carfing, rovings and mixing different colours etc.
Claire it comes already mixed, though I found it easier to card it into rologs than to spin it as it came, if you see what I mean.
Craftybernie, I found it not as easy as merino roving but it was the camel that made the bumps or as Claire said humps
Thinking I might use the tiny skein to experiment with dye, the next time I get the dyes out, I think there could be between 5 and 10g, more than enough to play with
