Not impressedI'm really peed off. I was making some socks with some Jitterbug - I had heard it was a bit short on yardage so I split the skein in 2 and was knitting them toe-up. I used the lighter of the 2 halves first (it only weighed a gram or so less). It turned out pretty short but I thought they'd be ok. So - 2nd sock almost finished. I'm about half-way through the ribbing but I've run out I'm really peed off. I thought about ripping the other one back a bit but they are going to be really short and I reckon the yarn is more suited to wintery socks than short summer ones - they'll be too hot.
As much as it pains me, I think I'm going to frog them. The yarn is very nice - maybe I should have knitted it on slightly larger needles - although I do like the fabric it makes on my usual sock needles. I can't decide whether to get another skein or see if I can get a pair of hand warmers out of it instead. I'd definately need a skein and a half to make a pair of socks my 'normal 'length'
Think I might cast on a new pair - I've got some nice regia bamboo that I got as a pressie from a friend - much better for hot-weather socks.

ah bummer Sharon. This is one reason why I haven't bothered with the jitterbug because I have large feet and there's no way i'd get more than a pair of trainer socks out of a skein.
I think you're right to frog them though and use the yarn for something else.

It's a shame because it is lovely yarn - very squishy. I've got some left over from the shoalwater I madein a variegated blue and I've got one skein of dark blue so I might get a pair of socks out of that if I do contrasting toes and cuffs.
Bad yarn!

Wasnt there a discussion a while back about the newer skeins having more meterage? I seem to remember when they first brought it out people were complaining they couldnt get a whole pair of socks out of one skein, but then they made the skeins bigger after a couple of months?
Is the skein you have got one of the older ones sprite?
I was hoping this was the case because I really like the jitterbug colours and was hoping to use it for my big feet one day Oh well

Well, I did think it was a later skein - but I don't know for sure. I've got size 7 feet and I don't like my socks tight - I usually cast on 70ish to up to 80 stitches and I'm not a tight knitter.
