New blog for my stuff

Hi all, I have now got a new blog just showcasing my swifts and spindles. It has all the ifo, prices and piccies on of what we make plus an email link.

If anyone would be kind enough to feature it on their website I would be eternally grateful.

Its at: http://sunflowerswifts.blogspot.com

Many thanks, comments always welcome - as I am bound to have missed something vital off Confused

Claire, would you like to pop your link into the Craft Market section too? And the Suppliers Nestsection of the forum? That way, we won't lose the link Wink

I may just be after a swift to help with the rewinding of some hanks into balls in the near future Wink

To list blogs that you visit the best way is probably to sign up for Bloglines http://www.bloglines.com or a similar feed aggregator.

Once you have a free account you can add feeds from blogs you are interested in. Click on the "Add" option in the left hand column. You just need to supply their URLs and then most of the default values for the other things it asks for are ok. It may give you a couple of different options for feeds - I usually choose the most popular one (it says how many are subscribed to it) or the most recently updated one.

If you didn't do this when you set up your account you need to go into your account, select the Blog Settings option and fill in a username and save it.

Once you have your list in place and a username set up you can click on the "Share your Blogroll" link under the "Publish, share and Save section.
On the next page it should have automatically filled in your username and the other fields can be left blank. Click on the "Generate HTML" button and it will give you a small bit of code to put in your blog - don't worry that it doesn't show any of your links or anything.

Copy that piece of code and go to your blog dashboard and click on the layout link. Click on the Add Page Element option and then choose the HTML option. Paste the blogroll script there and hit the save changes button. When you look at your blog your blogroll should magically appear.

If you add to or change your list in Bloglines it will automatically be updated next time you refresh your blog.

Another advantage to Bloglines is that you can set up a notifier in your system tray (bottom right of your screen) which will let you know when any of your listed blogs has been updated.

For websites, like shops that do not have feeds like blogs have you can simply add links to your layout/template by clicking on the Add a Page Element and then the Link List option or by editing the ready made Link list.

I know this sounds complicated but I think once you get on the relevant pages it will become clearer. I have had a glass of wine so if anything needs further clarification I will be happy to give that in the morning!

Very Happy

Thankyou ladies, you are wonderful!!! (wipes tear from eyes)

I have figured out how to add side bars - with help from Jackie, so I will be adding as many of your websites as I can to the blog or my personal blog.
