Name My Blog - competition - winner announced!

Right then all you clever name choosers and slogan generators, I've got a task for you. As you may recall, I made a major change in my life last year when I decided to leave Mr Carola. It's been 7 months since then and I'm gradually starting to rebuild and thinking about moving on to a new start. I feel my old blog was very tied in to the life I had then and which I have left behind, and I am not keeping it up to date very well. I'd like to create a new blog with a different name, and with a wider scope, so I could write about my (new) life and all the things I like to do as well as about knitting.

I'm thinking fresh start, new beginnings, and I like walking, being outdoors, cycling, gardening and the countryside as well as knitting, etc.

I'd welcome suggestions for a name for my new blog, and if I use one of the suggested names then there will be a yarny prize for the suggester.

Wow! What a lot of great suggestions!  Very Happy I am hopeless at this kind of thing...and thank you all also for your good wishes.

I am taking all the suggestions away to ponder on and I will let you know tomorrow who the winner is  Cool

Just a thought, but are you staying with blogger?
It might be worth looking at wordpress especially if the name you want has "gone" on blogger...

One other thing - You probably remember what happened to CJ's blog when she deleted it (took over by extremely undesireables) so don't delete it - either delete old posts and just leave it empty if you don't want to use it, or just leave it be to take its place in history!!! Smile

How about Cast Off, Cast Out, Cast On? It reminds me of changing and moving forward (but that may just be me lol)
Oblonsky

How about 'Frog and Knit Anew'?

Good luck with all that you wish to do  Very Happy

OK Guys,
I've read all your very clever suggestions and thought about them, that's while I was spending two hours on the phone to BT India convincing them that my Home Hub was really kaput (don't ask. The new one arrived today and it seems to be working fine).

Based on the feelings they evoke for me, and my vision of what I'm aiming for, I have chosen

"Purls in the Pool", which was Granny Smith's suggestion. It makes me think of a calm peaceful place in nature with hidden treasures in the water's depths, and has a clever play on words too (see what she did there with the word purls?).

So thank you Jacky, and if you would like to pm me with your address I'll send you a skein of Sea Silk in appreciation.

I have created the blog (although no posts yet) at http://purlsinthepool.blogspot.com and now I've got a router again I'll be copying stuff across over the weekend I hope, and maybe even posting.

I'll also be taking Noo's advice about the old blog, and I shallleave it up as a record of a former time.

Thank you all again!
Auntie Noo

Can't wait to start reading you again Carola!!! Smile

oooh ooooh oooh - so 2 things to say!! cos I popped in to bookmark it for my blogroll (otherwise I would forget Rolling Eyes)- I Lurve your photo on the top (and the one of you on your profile is lovely too!) and one of your fave books is Jonathon Strange and Mr Norrell......... I have been umming and ahhhing over this on audible since I first joined - the length is putting me off  a tad - but is it really that good (yeah I know I just hijacked your thread, but I hope you don't mind!)

Thank you all, I'm looking forward to posting again too  Very Happy The new blog seems nice, I just have to move in!
Re Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell, it is long, and it isn't the fastest paced story either, so you have to like the style and the subject I think, but I love fairy tales and it is written in a very clever way so it sounds like Jane Austen, and it presents a different but similar history of England, but with Magick as part of it, which I just found fascinating. The story is well structured, too.

Ooohh, I've been away soooo long for many reasons, so I'm new to all your life changing news!  Shocked
All the very best to you Carol, I just looked very quickly at your new blog - it's looking great!!  Love the photography you do.

I've made a new blog also. still working on it, I need a fresh blog start to reflect that we are embarking on making changes to our lifestyle in the next few years.  Like a clean page!

Look forward to keeping up with your new blog  thumbup
