My sock shame - & a mini-challenge!!

Having counted up my unfinished socks and been thoroughly shocked at myself I have decided to pull myself back from the brink of The Wooden Spoon by finishing AT LEAST one pair of socks I've started this year before the end of the month!!!!

But - I was just thinking - could I manage 3 pairs in 13 days do you think and qualify for the Bronze badge?  Shocked  Laughing Or is that just silly to attempt? Razz

Why not try? It would be fun to see, and we could cheer you on!!! Very Happy

How 'unfinished ' are they, eg 1 sock of the pair done, toes needed grafting  or just started the rib.
Go for it if you think you can do it (or have 3 pairs nearly done to complete in the first 3 months of next year  Laughing )

I think I might try!!! Razz  I have a pair where the first sock is up to beginning of the toe shaping, and lots where the first sock has reached the end of the cuff/beg of heel flap. I think it's do-able if I don't knit anything else - that's the hard bit for me - FOCUSSING and not getting bored Laughing
KnittingLadybird

Go for it Pictish...you can do it!!!!!! My snowflakes only took 6 days from beginning to end so partial socks should be easy. Very Happy
Piglottie

Go for it Ali Smile  You will get a real sense of achievement if you do finish them, and if you dont, well at least you tried Smile

Woollywarbler

Go for it...I've just managed 3 mens pairs and started the 4th pair yesterday. There looks like plenty of goodies on the tv to keep us entertained whilst knitting. No sweat Wink  Very Happy

Well I've done quite well tonight so a good start. I've picked this one which was meant to be my entry for January Embarassed It's in Posh Sophia cashmere - really gorgeous - and it would be nice to make these for myself for Christmas I think. In January I got as far as the top of the cuff. Tonight I've done the heel flap, turned the heel and finished the gusset shaping. Am going to try and finish it tomorrow if I can and then cast on straightaway for the second before SSS sets in Razz

I'm full of admiration for you Pictish. I hate going back to something after any length of time, so very well done to you for setting yourself this challenge!
(They are a beautiful colour, aren't they? They will be lovely to wear over Christmas.)

I think they will Linz!! It's the only pure cashmere I have - tho I must say the Posh Emily feels very close in terms of softness. Think I will just be wearing these on special occasions Wink .

I really would like the Bronze button for my siggy but I'm more excited about getting 3 pairs of handknitted socks now Razz  Laughing  Laughing

One down - 5 to go Laughing  Laughing I haven't grafted for over a year so the toe isn't perfect. Another fuzzy pic.

They are looking fabulous...amazing isn't it when you just get that...inspiration Confused...kick up the jacksy? Wink or whatever you want to call it lol

I think having a personal goal or like you said mini challenge is just the ticket sometimes.
