My Cousin Vinney

I have now watched this film at least a dozen times and it still makes me laugh out loud. I can even snort/cry with laughter. If you haven't seen it, do try to. I am after a copy of the DVD off ebay...it's a real "feel good" film...brill for after a terrible day at work Very Happy
carolinne

it is selling for 3.97 on amazon

whats it about??/
murdo

His cousin gets wronfully arrested in a backwater as a murderer. He acts as his lawyer...pretending to stuffy local judge that he's an accomplished criminal defendent...he isnt...just qualisied after "correspondence" course of several years. He's brash Brooklyn in hicksville and has a series of disasters that makes you laugh out loud. Put it this way...if I could only own one film, it would be this!!!
carolinne

sounds good best get to amazon and order a copy
murdo

I've just enabled myself at Amazon Smile

I don't know what you lot are on about Laughing but I have some instant grits in my cupboard at the mo that DH brought back from Georgia. I did have them when I was in the US but I have no real desire to have them again Laughing

It was a loooong time ago and I don't really remember how they tasted - a bit porridgey with butter stirred in maybe? I'll eat pretty much anything but I don't remember being too excited, lol Very Happy Tell you what, I might get them out and give them a go tomorrow!
murdo

Oh poo, I can't find it. I did do a major clean-out of the kitchen ready for decorating (still not done!) and I reckon I might have thrown it out. I'll keep an eye out for it though. Because I KNOW you are on tenterhooks. Whatever they are. Laughing tongue3

Gosh, missed this one! I LOVE My Cousin Vinny - Joe Pesci was superb. I loved the way he gradually earned the respect of the old Southern judge. Great film.

Incidentally, the trial judge in the film was the wonderful Fred Gwynne - you may remember he played the part of Herman Munster for years.

one of the best movies i have seen!!!!!

You lot have just made me giggle reading through this and remembering the film. Who was it who played his girlfriend ? I can see her face (and hear the voice Shocked )but can't put a name to her.
Aknita

It was Marisa Tomai, and she won an Oscar for her performance in the film.

For those of you who haven't seen this, it's on Film4 at 9:00 tonight. I'd thoroughly recommend it Very Happy
