Mission Falls 1824 Wool

Just. To. Die. For. Laughing Laughing I've got some for my birthday - well a bit BEFORE my birthday cos I couldn't wait Razz - and it's honestly I think the loveliest wool I've knitted with. It's the combination of the softness and the colours - especially the colours which are so rich but muted at the same time so that each one goes with every other one without anything jarring. The colours on the screen don't do ANY justice to what they are IRL.

Anyway it's an aran weight pure superwash merino - you can EVEN tumble dry it Shocked as if you would at £5 a ball ROFL and the guage is as it says 18/24 and is interchangeable with their cotton which comes in the same colours. It is the wool used in The Famous I-Cord Jumper from Inspired Cable Knits. I got it from The Woolly Workshop and I am knitting the stripey polo jumper from the book Recollection which you see in their ads in every Interweave mag which you can see here but with a slightly different colourway as I originally was going to do the jacket.

Dang...that price is double what it retails for here in the US. And the shop that I work at has it on sale now for $4 a ball, so that's what? About 2 pounds sterling?

Of course, the shipping to the UK will kill you but I think it would even out.

We are getting rid of it because the owner doesn't like it. She says it's not the same as it used to be....

Goodness knows what it was like then Rolling Eyes Laughing Laughing And £2??? Shocked Why would anyone pay Rowan and Debbie Bliss prices over there then Jon when you can knit with this and lots of other much better yarn?? Laughing Laughing

I think you would really be caught on customs/VAT/shipping but it might be worth it still Wink
