King Cole Merino Blend DK

Just discovered this Rolling Eyes  Laughing no doubt some of you have been using it for yonks Laughing It's very soft and superwash - reminds me of the Rowan Pure Wool DK or old-style Jaeger Matchmaker from years ago. And the best bit is that it's only around £2.25 a ball Cool Knits to 22 st and 28 rows so great for subbing.

I love this wool.  This and Matchmaker Merino DK.   The price of this wool varies from one end of the Isle of Man to another - eg. our LYS sold it at £2.70 a ball and I think she's put it up again!!! Yikes.  But another shop on the Island sold it for £2.40 a ball.  TBH, I tend to buy mine online whererver I can get best price.

I've used it to make scarves for scarf exchanges and although I personally found it a little bit scratchy (only a teensy weensy bit) it softens up lovely once washed.

I've never made myself anything out of it yet though....

If there is a Boyes nearby its about £2.50 - £1.99 if there is a sale on.

Great for cosy slouchy socks too.

Yeah Fi I've just been admiring Debs' ones Cool
melody yarns

They are very thick and warm - perfect for slouching round the house as you say and in rigger boots or safety boots or wellies. I probably wouldn't recommend the yarn for shoe socks though as they are quite thick sockies  Shocked
