Jaeger Trinity

Just been going thro some of the projects on Ravelry knitted up in Trinity - there are quite a few references to it stretching after a while - has anyone on here had this problem with?

Mine didn't get the chance, I only knitted half a ball, hated it & sent it to ebay !
Catknit

I made a shawl from it, its yucky.
CJ

definately yucky. I palmed mine off on my mum. Twisted Evil Laughing

Might be starting to regret the 3 packs of it that I have Sad - thinking maybe if I knit something in a firmish stitch rather than stocking stitch it may be OK?

You could try at a different guage on smaller needles maybe Cazzie Cool so it's tighter.

Didn't a few Knit-a longers make Vanessa in this yarn?

I also made a vest top in k2p2 rib but it's never been worn Confused

Yes and I had to give mine to my sister as it ended up too big despite me knitting the pattern to gauge. I think the yarn would be great in some knits, but not others. Clapotis would be fine and a light throw but a fitted knit, no. Smile

It washes well and the garment kept it shape after washing but it stretched while knitting.

Thanks for that - maybe at least one pack will become a clapotis Very Happy

I think someone else knitted a Tulip top in it too ?

Might be worth knitting a size smaller maybe (- thinking Tulip still...) especially if it does keep its shape after the initial stretch?

It's probablt the fact that the yarn is made from soft cotton and has no 'elasticity' to speak of. I have several packs of this too and I want to knit a plain stocking stitch hoodie cardigan from one of the Jaeger books with one lot of it.

I made Ivy in Trinity and I really like the yarn. Admittedly I've only worn it a couple of times so far but haven't had any issues with it stretching Confused I'd happily make other things in Trinity, I don't think it's yucky at all!

I made Tulip in it and really liked knitting with it, although I haven't worn Tulip enough to warrant having to wash it yet!!!

It hasn't stretched or anything. I think that a knit that doesn't hang is good in it otherwise it might go a bit droopy ?

Thanks all - think I will go ahead sometime and start Tulip in it sometime - but may go for a close fit size just in case..

I made Ivy in the Trinity too, and I hated the finished garment because I did find it stretchy. Don't think I would use the Trinity again, and the Ivy ended up in the bag to go to a charity shop some day.
