Icarus & FCS in progress...

Just two pics of my progress so far on the Icarus Shawl from Interweave Knits and the Forest Canopy shawl.

I'm knitting Icarus in a laceweight merino from stash...  I still prefer knitting with 4ply or sock yarn compared to laceweight but I think this laceweight really suits the Icarus Shawl.

... and the FCS in GeminiKnits Sockyarn.

I am loving both of these patterns, especially the FCS.  I can see how the FCS could be a very quick knit for more experienced knitters.

both are looking great CB!...i'm a fan of the FCS but Icarus is something that's on my ever growing list. I'll watching with interest Very Happy

Lol!

I knit practically everything on circs nowadays.  Have even learned how to knit two socks at once on circulars - although I never did get round to finishing them!!

My love of circular needles started with felted bags which were knit in the round and really heavy.  I liked how the cable takes all the weight of the project and rests in my lap.  (Ok, so lace isn't heavy... but it's what I'm used to now).

Wink

Looking good there CB, i love the colour of the Icarus, it's gorgeous Smile

I knit everything on circulars, i have for years because i find straights tend to pierce my nipples laughing8

They both look fab Bernie. Smile  I knit everything on circs too, but because of the heavy thing, not the nipple thing!! Laughing

Since I bought my set of Boyes needles, I use circulars for everything too.  I particularly liked circulars for the lace things I've done because I found the yarn didn't stick on the needles, as it had on my bamboo straights.

Sorry about that KLB!  Did you like the diagram?  Twisted Evil  took me all of 5 mins!

CJ ->It's not hard at all.  the pattern has written instructions and chart instructions and I'm working from the chart.
Aknita

I find it really hard to count my stitches on circulars. The knitting bit is fine, the counting defeats me!

I was with Franney at Ally pally when she made a similar remark about needles and boobies! You should have seen this poor woman's face .........lol:
