I'm going for a test spin...

It's our Guild meet up tomorrow and I'm going to test-spin a Majacraft wheel called the Suzie Pro.
I think this may be *the* wheel for me.... It's drop dead gorgeous for a start!

Oh, lucky you. That's why I still claim I won't buy a wheel until Woolfest. I cannot try anything in this country. (At least anything which is still manufactured since most Finnish spinning wheels were made by individuals fifty years ago.)

You must tell what Suzie was like, so I know whether to add it to my list.

I borrowed something very similar to that from Twistfibre while I waiting for my Lendrum and I almost cancelled the order and bought it Laughing Laughing But it was about twice the price so I didn't Wink The Majacrafts seem VERY VERY smooth tho - beautiful. If I ever upgrade I would go for one.

You have a Lendrum? It's high on my list. What it's like?

I have ordered one...

In my defence, there was a 10% off deal.
When I got the Kiwi I deliberately got a basic basic basic wheel, because I have this tendency to dabble. And I have had it for over a year, and I do use it a lot.

It will be here in about four weeks.

I am NO expert Hanne and I have not used it much Confused but I LOVE it - it's very smooth and beautifully made. But as I'm sure you've been told do try them if you can.

n I'm sure you'll like it!
n

Hanne, will you have learned to spin on a wheel before you try them?
Otherwise it will be a bit like test driving a car while you are learning to drive one.
I learned on a drop spindle, and didn't try any wheels in a shop until I could "drive".

N...good for you. You deserve it!! Akind lady at Colinette offerred to teach me and she lives close. I am waiting to sort out some family stuff and will ring her and ask if she still wants to teach me Smile
n

That's great, murdo.
Often spinners have a wheel-stash (I'm about to join their ranks), so she may have one she can lend you, or know someone who is selling one.

I learnt on an Ashford Traditional which is what I have at home as it is simple and flexible - I would like a portable wheel at some point in the future though...
ClaireUK

At the moment I have 3 - yes 3 - Ashford travellers in my front room.

One is sold to Janes friend, one is going up for sale soon, and the other one I am keeping. Its like a little bit of heaven on earth here!!!
