How to ply?Right, expert advice needed here. Once I've finished spinning an amount of fibre on my drop spindle what's the best way of getting it off and storing it until I ply it?
The first two big lots Ispun I slid onto some thick wooden knitting needles and then when I plied it I stuck the knitting needles between my legs but it was very fiddly and not that great.
What's the proper way of doing it?
Do I need to do anything with the yarn after I've plied it?

I usually start again on another spindle and then ply them together on a third spindle when I have spun enough.

I did wonder about doing that. But I'd need two more spindles. Have been thinking of getting another one anyway.

If I get another one, it'll definitely be one of yours Claire. I was telling Simon earlier that I want a spinning wheel for christmas.

Not much. He thinks the whole spinning thing is a bit weird. Last week he made a comment about the insdustrial revolution taking place so that we would have to spin our own yarn anymore. He propably thinks with my stash, what's the point in wasting time spinning. Little does he know.
