How do I do a Lifeline?I have just had to completely undo my latest offering - a laceweight scarf. I had only done 30 rows and had somehow lost 6 stitches
How do I put a lifeline in? I didnt do one cos a scarf is small and easy - right
I think I need this skill before I try again.
I WILL learn to knit lace, I WILL!!!

Claire...there's a video here...about 1/4 of the way down under the 'Fixing Mistakes' section!

With your knitting on one needle you take a threaded needle and pass it through the stitches so that it is held parallel to the knitting needle, go from one end to the other and don't take the stitches off the knitting needle.
Make sure the thread is just over twice the length of the garment and then tie the ends together, you'll need it extra long if you want to try things on, not like my sock which i couldn't get over my arch because the lifeline was too tight
Hope that helps
