Help!It's lovely to be back:o)
We're just back from a trip home to Scotland and my mother has instilled me with fear! Now bearing in mind her less than rapturous response to her FC shawl in Fyberspates Scrumptious , she has asked for a pair of mitts. They need to be pretty loose as dad will have to pull them on and off. I reckon Fetching (with an extended cuff) would be a good starting point - but I need to adapt them into full mitts, rather than fingerless gloves.
Now the even trickier bit ... I've only ever made 2 pairs of mitts to date (pair of Fetching and Cranford mitts). Any suggestions how I'd best go about adapting the pattern ?
Thanks for any guidance you can give ...

what about these from knitty?? I know they're stranded but you could always omit the colourwork if you wanted to
DK too, so should be quick enough

Although I didn't have a pattern in mind that was what I was going to suggest.

Oh Angie, there are literally hundreds of mitten patterns for you to pick through if you've a spare hour or two
Just do an advnaced search on Ravelry and put in what weight wool you want to use and you'll have full instructions and not need to fudge something together
Unless you like fudging that is

You're absolutely right, Franney I've had another browse through Ravelry this morning and am planning to tackle Breathe Deep mittens ... which just about sums up my feelings about tackling anything for mum
Terri and Craftylady, I love the Corazon pattern and have saved it on my favourites list ... I fancy a pair for me!
Off to cast on if I can find something suitable in my stash.... and thanks for your suggestions.
Keep your fingers crossed!

I liked that too, Franney. I've got a skein of Manos del Uruguay left from a jumper in autumnal colours. But I'm a bit worried it's too variegated a yarn and the pattern will get lost...
