Hello, I'm Annieand I'm a yarnaholic.
Knitting and spinning are my favourites but I do a bit of crochet and have been known to dabble in felt-making too.
There are lots of names I recognise from other forums - it's a small world!

Thank you Gilraen. The more spinning and dyeing I do, the more I enjoy it. I treated myself to some large pots of dye so I can mix away without worrying that I'm about to run out!

I have a second-hand machine purchased from Ebay about 18 months ago but I don't use it much because a) it takes up too much room in our little house when the side extensions are in place and b) DD2 moans like mad about the noise it makes when she's watching "Extreme Skinny Celebrities" or some other such trash!
Thank you all for the warm welcome.

hello Annie.
I noticed on your blog, you've tried hand-dyeing with landscapces dyes. I've just bought some of those recently too, was it easy to do variagated with them, as I've only done solids in one big pot of water?

Yes it was easy. My main tip would be: don't get the fibre/yarn too wet; after the initial soaking, squeeze out as much water as poss, other wise the colours tend to run into each other and you end up with a muddy brown (ask how I know )
If you want any more info, pm me and I'll tell you everything!

thanks Annie. I'll have a go tomorrow night - kids will be off to bed super-early. Will PM you if I get stuck - more than likely. I'm thinking of wrapping the yarn in clingfilm and steaming it, so that should be fun.
