Hello from Purplegem :)Hi to everyone 
Thanks Carola for reminding me of this forum url address - it's nice to see all the familiar names, and the forum has a nice mixed crafts feel to it - I'll enjoy exploring!
I will now have to fight for more time on pc and t'internet, thinking I may need to set up an internet rota for the household! There's always a queue!
When I'm not fighting to get onto the pc, I love knitting - rediscovered it a year ago after giving up learning to knit early 80's and spent most of last year making baby garments for our first grandchild. Also brushed up on my crochet last year, but haven't done much since making a baby blanket last year.
Hobbies that I've enjoyed but haven't had time to do for years is card making and paper craft, painting, drawing and sewing and dress making - but hope to put this right before too long.
I would love to do/ learn: quilting/patchwork. textile and yarn dying, spinning, and new knitting techniques - I'm always on the lookout for local workshops.
Look forward to chatting with you all, and no doubt being led astray to interesting crafty things  (don't need much encouragement tho'! )

I've been browsing the photos here of everyones work for the past hour or so - there's so much great stuff been made by everyone!
We are in the middle of decorating and upheaval at the moment - so I'm not knitting so much at the moment  - Seeing all the lovely work has got my fingers itching to pick up the needles! I've got some UFOs, some WIPs and lots on my 'hope to do' list and I've already book marked a few links on this forum of some patterns that have caught my eye

Just thought I'd again to everyone
Back again into my knitting after 9-12 months of all sorts of reasons putting a spanner in the works between me and my knitting 
Have been into making socks recently. Yay!! I think the penny has finally dropped and I've got the bug good and proper now. I started my first sock about 2 years ago, and finished it this year!
Since then I've completed another pair, and now on my third. I'm making them as christmas presents - the recipients think I'm making them for myself! It's hard to knit in secret in our house so I've given up! I just fib with my fingers crossed - hard to do when your knitting at the time!
