Hairy Potato and the Half Blood PrinceI once received a text from DS2 to tell me that "the new hairy potato is half price"
What he was trying to say was that the title for the new Harry Potter book was The Half Blood Prince
Guess what we call Harry Potter in this house
Anyway DS2 and I trundled off to watch it last night. It was great tbh, I thoroughly enjoyed it although it could perhaps have managed another 10 minutes or so as it did seem to rush a bit at the end.
DS was muttering all the way home about the bits they had left out, and I had to remind him that perhaps a film six hours long might not be commercially viable
I LOVE the interaction of all the young people in this film. They all behave just like ordinary normal teenagers who have known each other for several years, such is the genuine warmth and affection between all of them.
The casting of Jim Broadbent as Slughorn and Helena-Bonham Carter is inspired. I am so looking forward to the last two installments, but for now I am going to content myself with reading all 7 books again consecutively.

I'm just listening to the audio versions read by Stephen Fry - it's great to have it read to you, puts quite a different slant on some of it!

Francis has all the books on cd Noo. With his being dyslexic the books, especially some of the latter ones, were a little offputting in their size so the cd's were a brilliant solution. Stephen Fry is so good isn't he.
