Freedom Spirit KAL

I cast on on Christmas day with the same yarn FC used  Rolling Eyes  Laughing Got as far as the armholes and had to frog as a bit too small so have started again and it looks ok this time.

Feel free to join in - the pattern is this one - the crew neck cardi on the right but longer length. I'm using shade 508 Bliss.
slowasasnail

I have the pattern for this and I love it.  Mind you I joined the Central Park hoodie last year and have only just cast on.

I don't think it matters at all Kate Laughing  Laughing I haven't finished my CPH either Wink
FatCat

oh my word!  LOL!   Laughing  wow, I'm gobsmacked, which doesn't happen often  Rolling Eyes  I don't think I've ever made anything that someone has liked so much they've started on one themselves  Embarassed Same colour and all?

I wore mine every day from 24 December until yesterday and I still love it  Very Happy   Looking forward very much to seeing yours!   Very Happy

I'm not ready to make another one though, but I might make a start on the Freedom Spirit lacy sweater soon  Very Happy

Maybe I'll just make it a Freedom Spirit KAL then that's a bit more flexible Cool
FatCat

That is one fine plan m'dear!  A Freedom Spirit knitalong sounds like just the thing, count me in  Very Happy

Any pics of your cardi yet?
pictish

I tried a few days ago but the light is so appalling here atm - I'm off till Monday so I'll try in the next day or so Cool
pictish

Well I put this down as you do Rolling Eyes  Laughing and then picked it up again and knitted a bit more and finished the back - or so I thought Confused Well I've only gone and knitted the bit from the armholes at at different size haven't I Evil or Very Mad  Laughing so I've had to frog back to the armholes - not pleasant with this wool Rolling Eyes

I never DID put a piccy up Wink
melody yarns

Oh no  Sad It's horrid when that happens isn't it? But at least you found out sooner rather than later hey?
pictish

My fault - I'd obviously decided to modify the pattern and made notes to that effect then changed my mind but not scrubbed out the notes!!! Laughing Back on track now.
FatCat

oh no!  And the yarn is an absolute beep to frog too  Sad  I know this from experience  Rolling Eyes    Glad you're back on track though.

I was thinking about this KAL just yesterday, I'm fighting hard against temptation to cast on the lacy sweater in Fire ....

Ooh norty Laughing  Laughing

Yes the frogging was not pleasant Laughing  Laughing It's pooling a lot on the back with this pattern too - no idea why Confused
FatCat

Pooling?  Mine didn't pool at all, just striped.  That's a bit odd Confused  So, are you not happy with the way it's coming out?  Or is it just different patterning that's OK?
pictish

The other colours I've used haven't pooled at all so maybe just this batch. I'm not TOO fussed really it's just one side is very pinky and the other mainly greeny. I'll put a pic up later in the week and you'll see. It's still gorgeous!!!

I had another look at this today and knitted a bit more and decided I really didn't like the way it was knitting up Confused I took it back to the shop and they agreed it didn't look right. Unfortunately they didn't have another lot of that colour and I had to swap with something else but I HAVE got some more in a purpley shade and some in the Soul so I might just cast on in one of those colours. They are going to let me know what Twilleys have to say.
melody yarns

Oooh it's fortunate that you were able to return it Ali  Cool  Knowing me I'd knit mine up YEARS later and then wouldn't be able to do anything about it  Shocked
pictish

Well yes THIS was one lot I DID get recently Laughing  Laughing I would normally be in the same position as you Wink

I got some King Cole Merino DK in a lovely turquoise colour in it's place - just about to give it a test run!!!
melody yarns

Oooh I have some of that in stash--- well, quite a bit actually  Embarassed but in different colours...I've got a fair old whack of the 4 ply on cone for machine knitting too - it's superb yarn to knit and wear

I've just knitted Mr Melody a pair of rigger boot socks in the graphite. I just need to darn in the ends and they're done! I'm thinking of using the rest of the graphite to knit the ribbed cardigan with the collar from the Sirdar Eco-knits book as I don't fancy knitting the cably cardi

I've just done a tension square and it is GORGEOUS!!!! heart A bit like the Rowan Pure Wool DK or the old-style Jaeger Matchmaker. Very soft. Nice to hear it wears well too. It was only £2.25 a ball Razz
melody yarns

It gets softerer when you wash it as well  Wink  S'lovely
pictish

You would like the colour Debs - it's a nice bright turquoise!!
FatCat

That's really odd, that the colours weren't coming out right  Confused  Glad you could take it back though, and glad you got some more and you might try again.

I am still planning to join in this KAL - with the lacy sweater in Fire.  Honest.  Might cast on in the next week or so ... but don't hold me to it!   Very Happy
pictish

Well amazingly I bought some more of the yarn I had that pooled - it is shade Bliss 508 I think - cos I just loved it so much AND the cardi FC made so have started again. I am also doing the Lacy Scoop Neck jumper in the colour of the pattern (had cast on last autumn but it's really more a spring thing I think cos of the lace eyelets).

Not sure if anyone else is doing either of these or in fact ANY Twilleys FS but the 2 patterns are here for the jumper and the cardi is here - I'm doing the round neck one.
