Divas Don't Knit/The Friday Night Knitting Club.Has anybody else read these two books? I don't normally read chicklit-type books, as when they first began to come out the ones I tried weren't very good.
However these two books were really good. I got them from the library, after being recommended them (heavily) by a friend, and they were really enjoyable. Even without the knitting angle they were good stories and The Friday Night Knitting Club brought a tear to my eye at the end (and I don't usually cry at books!)

I've read Friday Night KNitting Club which I thought was brilliant. I'd love to have seen the knitted dresses, they sounded stunning. Is this the book that's being made into a film staring Julia Roberts?

So would I!!
I didn't know about the film, but I looked it up on the IMDB and it looks like it is! It's got a release date of June 2008 in the States, if that's any help whatsoever.

I've read both of these too and really enjoyed them. I also cried at the end of the Friday Night Knitting Club.

I must admit I thought the Friday NIght KNitting Club would have a happy ending and was really sad when it didn't. I kept thinking it'll all work out okay. Anotehr year to wait for the film, for some reasonI thought it was this autumn it was due to be released.

I bet the film has a happy ending - Hollywood doesn't like sad endings

I'm reading Friday Night Knitting Club believe it or not - ( Birgitte bought it for me) - only on Page 50 or so - but so far it's VERY readable !! Makes a change from Inspector Rebus Detective stories !!

They were the last two books I read. Loved them both - great to get the UK and the US angle. Wouldn't normally read this style of literature either, but loved the writing style in Divas Don't Knit - she was v. clever with the speech, esp. of the boys. Didn't know about the film.
