For some reason it wouldn't paste anything into my profile's sig area, even if I got rid of everything else in case it overrunning the 255 character limit. Anyway here it is typed in one character at a time

only just over 3 hours then I can start my first sock!!  that's if I don't fall asleep in front of the TV, dream team is very boring tonight.

Hmmm.... haven't got it to work so far, but will try again later when the winds have died down! The windows are rattling so much I can't concentrate on anything.

Love the button Linz - you are soooo clever. But I cant get it to work  I've followed the instructions (ie save it to the site where I host all my other pics, and then did [img]http etc etc)[/img] in the signature box and it doesn't work). Have to go pick up the instep on the sock I'm desperately trying to finish so if anyone has any ideas of what else I need to do, I shall check in later/tomorrow and see if I can sort it. I cannot remain buttonless

Great button, and managed to get it to work 3rd time, which surprised me as I am not good at things like this at all.
I couldn't get it to work like mentioned, so saved it to my pc and loaded it into image shack as an aviator, then added the [img] [/img] either side Cathie |

I've put my button on. I'm not planning on going for gold or anything but I have only ever knitted one pair of socks *which I wear with pride) and in my stash I have enough to make another 6 pairs at least plus the two balls I have just ordered.

We don't have a ranks system set up on our forum*, and only members with special magical forum powers are allowed their own special rank assigned to them. *(we could have a ranking system by number of posts if you wanted to though )

Yeah! I have a button now courtesy of Debs (big thanks ). I just finished picking up the instep on my current socks as midnight struck so am hoping that the yarn fairies will shower me with lots of superfast sock knitting dust due to my dedication to all that is sock knitting.

You need to right click on the button Linz put up, save i to your computer then upload to wherever you host your photos, and just pop in your signature like an image

I can't get it to save as a gif - so my star doesn't flash. Also, how do you get it in your sig? I know, I'm a complete eedjit as far a html is concerned. Has someone a letter by letter code thingy I can copy complete?

Aha - although it saves to my PC as a gif, when it uploads to my blog and to Flickr it turns into a jpg. hmm.
and you can see I failed to get even the jpg to load into my sig. LOL! what's a gal to do! |

I think (!) that the img tags in your signature need to be surrounded in square brackets not the pointy ones (there must be a proper name for those. . . . . . and I don't think it's "Madonna's Jubblies" !! ) Not sure about the jpg conversion thing though - I use photobucket and that worked as a gif?

Yes you are right the img tags should have square brackets round them to make them bbcode instead of HTML.
I don't use Flickr either, but I am pretty sure there must be a way of saving it as a gif. I am sure someone who uses Flickr will be along soon to tell us how it is done! |

I used imageshack so can't help with flicker. But when I saved it on my pc initially it saved as a png. It was only later I realised my mistake and fixed it to gif.

if you copy the text above and then put [img] at the beginning and [/img] at the end it should work...you just put the text in the signature box in your profile. don't click the link unless you want to save the pic on your pc....i've already uploaded it so you just need the text. hth |
