Ravelry seem so....well......American. Is there a way to avoid having to trawl through to find UK participants and vendors?

There are groups on Ravelry Claire. UK knitters/British Knitters etc. You can find people that way, but there are a lot of like minded people worldwide. I have added friends from all over the world to my list. The last one was Finnish

Oh, I like the international flavour of it all, just find it disconcerting when they are raving about a product and its not available in the UK or the postage is too high.

I've only used 1 but have another 3 in my stash to be used in the future.
I love Ravelry. I've immediately found that some the stash which I've added up there (there's still more to come) I'd previously forgotten about & I love being able to check it's yardage online when searching for a pattern rather than digging through my stash boxes to find it only to look at the yardage & put it back. It's enabled me to plan things a lot better including Christmas knitting.

So those are in the knitters stashes, wonder how many have knitted with them. I have kureyon and Lornas laces in stash but only used kureyon, Going to use LL for my next socks though.

Never used any of them and while ther ewere some I really, really wanted to try(Noro and Brown sheep) I've now gone off them either because the reviews aren't great (Noro) or because I've realised I'm not a chunky/bulky knit sort of shape (Brown Sheep).
Cathie, there are lot of British knitters on Ravelry so there's quite a bit of information about British and European yarns as well as American ones.

I've actually knitted one (LL) but have another three in my stash... Noro, STR and Koigu
|
Catknit

I've used 3 and have some Koigu in the stash but can't decide what to use it for (2 skeins).
You can also search for people by areas-I found someone in Wellingborough, which is where DD2 has her dance lessons 4 times a week and I also stumbled upon someone who went to the same school as me!

Catknit I see a lot of knitters using their KPPPM for the Chevron scarf.

I've knitted with 8 of them.
Lamb's Pride and Noro are brilliant for felting. I'm not sure I'd knit anything else in Lambs Pride though as it's quite thick.
