Crochet experts - help!!! Crochet edging question

I don't know if you can remember but I finished Beth at the beginning of January and all it needs is a crochet edging. The jacket is either in moss stitch or stocking stitch. Will a crochet edging stop the st st curling?? I'm just wondering whether to risk ruining it by having a go at dc all the way or whether to pick up and do a knitted edge of some sort Confused Any thoughts?

I had a terrible curling problem with my pinwheel blankets, I did a round of SC, then 4 rounds of a stitch I don't know what its called but it looked prettier than a DC.

I wrap the yarn as for a double crochet, but instead of making a stitch to remove 2 lots of 2 loops I pulled the whole lot through in one go.    Totally stopped the curling and finished it off just nice as well.

Cathie, that's called a half treble (or half double if you're using American terminology Wink )
