crochet cushion

This is my first attempt at making something crocheted, after many failed attempts!!!! I thought I'd get a little practice in before next week Wink

Terri that's gorgeous! I love those colours. Your first attempt at crochet? Really? I can't believe that, it looks pretty damn perfect to me Very Happy
terri

yeah first proper go, everytime I've tried before I just couldn't get the hang of it, couldn't hold the hook comfortably or anything but it just seems to have clicked this time Confused I was shown how to do granny squares when I was about 5/6, but I couldn't remember how to do it.
I'm going to have a hunt about for some colpours to make a throw I think, crochet uses more yarn than knitting though I think Confused or maybe you just get through it quicker Shocked Laughing

Ooooooooh, that's lovely, well done you!
You're right, crochet does use more yarn than knitting in my experience anyway Wink

it looks lovely terri!
They are selling granny square cushion covers and thows in this seasons empire catalogue...tenner for the cushion and 27quid for a smallish throw...and yours looks so much nicer imho.

Looks fab Terri - the colours are really classy - all sort of subtle and understated. And so neat!

Yes - crochet does use more yarn than knitting - I read somewhere it was about a third more, don't know if that's per stitch or what!

Go for the throw - you'll be pleased you did - I have loads of them and am always making more!

Its what I used, but the first time I looked at it, it didn't help at all, but this time it has, so I'm not sure Confused Thats not much help is it really! i think its the best tutorial crochet book I've tried Very Happy

Simple Crochet by Erika Knight also has some good instructions and pictures - don't know if you've seen that at all?

I'm sure we should have some big meet up somewhere complete with hooks, where those of us who can show those of us who can't!

That's wonderful! Smile Actually, it's more than wonderful since it's your first crocheted FO.

My two penn'orth on The Happy Hooker: If you're going to make any of the items, check out the errata if you have an early printing of the book. I found lots of errors in the patterns I looked over. There's a PDF file for download here.
