Carola's 2007 Sock StashOK guys, I haven't started yet, but I have chosen the yarn and the pattern (hedera), and while doing that I was forced to make an inventory of my sock yarn stash which was a little larger than I realised. You can read all about it and see some piccies on my blog. I'm lying down in a darkened room at the moment!

That's a relief, I thought it was something I'd done!

the thing with sock yarn is the just looking at it makes you happy so it doesn't matter how much you have

Sock yarn is very clever...you only need one or two balls to make a whole garment, it takes up much less room than any other project and comes in a a huge variety of colours...this is how it lures us into buying it with such abandon!! So you see...it's definitely not your fault but the sock yarn's! Don't blame it on the sunshine, don't blame it on the moonlight, don't blame it on the good times....blame it on the sock yarn!

Love your stash. If you wake up one morning and it's all gone......... you know where to look. And sorry, but you're still nowhere close to my sock stash. Any other challengers???? I've just ordered two new skeins from Natalie with my purple needles.

I daren't get my sock stash out for a photo as DH is the photographer in our house (fab VERY expensive camera that I daren't touch) & he'd kill me if he knew how much. Of the top of my head I've probably got enough for about 30 pairs plus other yarn of course I bought another 500g on Wednesday plus sock blockers & a sub for VK - got to stop now.

Thanks guys, I've been showing Mr Carola your replies. He doesn't seem convinced though LOL, but he's on shaky ground when it comes to stashing so he's keeping quiet.
Sock yarn is lovely stuff though isn't it? LOL @ Blossom's song BTW.

I would view it as an indication of advanced forward-planning skills. You are to be admired. Mr Knitbert will no doubt shower you with admiring glances when he realises this.

Sock yarn has a mind of it's own.
One minute you are just looking at it and before you know it, it has dropped into your basket.

I'm looking forward to starting my Hederas actually. I'm working in Somerset again this week, I've worked out how to get to the internet from the PC I've been supplied with (hehehe), if I get bored with Ivy I might just cast on the socks, but sadly I think this is the lull before the storm and I may not have much knitting time!
