Can Oh Peeeeeeeeeas :D
|
franney

Oh, alright! Here's the proper CanOhPeas, this one's a Forrestry one though
From this:
To this:
In just 5 days!
After 11 repeats i had 52g left, after 12 repeats i had 46g left and after 13 i have 38g so i reckon another two will leave enough for the edging and if it doesn't then i'll still have the toning mini-skein to fall back on

*giggling* Thanks all, i was feeling silly when i posted it, you nearly got a picture of some canapé's but i like musy peas more
I finished another repeat last night which brings me up to 14 and i have 30g of yarn left so it's one more pattern repeat which should leave about 20g for the border and cast-off, but i might do the two cast off rows in the pale green anyway, just fer fun like
Gilraen, i am using April's YY Club yarn and very lovely it is too, perfect for the shawl i think

Thankyou, i am really enjoying knitting it, which i didn't think i would cos i hate big projects and here i am making it bigger still!!
I didn't get any done today as i was out alllll day at the garden centre having fun
I think i am going to leave it at the 14 repeats, i am really panicking about how much yarn i have left and how much the edging and cast-off will use
|
franney
|
It's FIIIIIIIINIIIIIIIIIIISHED!! I cast off the last stitch at about ten past midnight last night!
I'm off to take photos and then work out how big it's going to be and where i am going to block it
I'm kinda about it though and feel ever so proud of myself

blummineck, you lot are impatient
On the bed, just laid out flat, no stretching
In the garden, plonked in front of some plants, the colours look much better in this photo
5g of yarn left!!
Not enough for another repeat though
I have chores to do today so i can't think about blocking it until tonight, i will have to clear all my sewing stuff off the spare bed and do it on there - it's so exciting

Oh it's lovely.
It's a swwop yarn and it adds an extra dimension I think, you can see the V of the yarn as well as the pattern of the lace.
Well done.

Thanks everyone, i really love it and i really am proud of myself for finishing it and im sorry if that sounds bigheaded, it isn't meant to
I can't believe it's only taken two weeks! It would have been even quicker if i'd managed to get some done every day but i had a couple of breaks.
I'm really looking forward to starting the MS3 shawl now that i know i can knit lace successfully
|
Aknita
|
Franney, of course you don't sound big-headed, and you should be rightly proud of yourself.
You should have heard the fuss I made when I made my first sock
|
franney
|
I could make as much fuss as i like, Bloke doesn't care a hoot about my knitting except that it takes up too much room and i do it instead of housework

That looks great Franney and its a gorgeous colour Even your Crocs sitting by the bed look as though they are smiling
|
franney
|
You'll never guess what!
I finally blocked it!!
It's currently pinned out, but i think it should be dry by now, i didn't block it too harshly and it measures 55" across the top and 26" from the straight edge to the point
Hopefully pics will follow when i get my arse in gear

Looking forward to seeing it

It's nice to know i can do something when i put my mind to it
Both thumbnails are clickable, the image quality is not that good though, the background is too light for the colour of the shawl i think

Great job Franney, it looks fab! Blocking is magic.
When you originally knit this, did you YY sockyarn or DK, and what size needles did you use?

Thanks CB, blocking is like, amaYzing man! (said in a hippy way )
It's Yarn YArd sock yarn, the Aril 2007 i believe
As for needle size... I'll have to hunt through my old posts, it was 8 months ago and anywhere between a 2.75mm and a 4mm
Edited t add: I found the old thread and i used a 3.75mm Addi lace needle I do knit loose though and most people use a 4.5mm or 5mm

I think that is beautiful Franney! I never quite get over the magic of blocking
