Blood DiamondI've just got back from the cinema and have to say that this is one of the best films I've seen in a while (and I go to the cinema a lot  ). Its not a sit back, don't think and be entertained type of film but is incredibly well acted and the storyline is excellent. It stars Leonardo DiCaprio who I think is getting better with age; Djimon Hounsou, who is brilliant!; and Jennifer Connelly. Its set against the backdrop of civil war in Sierre Leone and the trade in conflict diamonds. A great film, which I think deserves to be in the Oscar nominations. At times difficult to watch but some stories need to be told and this is one of those films.
Edited to add: I've just seen that Leonardo DiCaprio has been nominated for an Oscar (best actor) as has Djimon Hounsou (best supporting actor) - shame the film itself wasn't nominated.

I'm looking forward to that one, I think DH & I are going on Friday if nothing gets in the way like it usually does
