BedsocksRight, I just frogged my FC shawl. Fed up with going wrong every few rows. Not sure why I keep going wrong but nevermind. Anyway, it was looking a bit boring in light beige alpaca so I thought maybe I could make some cozy bedsocks with it instead. I've got both sensational knitted socks books so I can probably make something up from there - but I'm wondering about the best way to do the cast off (I'll do toe-up) coz I don't think it wants to be too tight (although I usually wear ordinary socks in bed which is probably bad for you LOL).
Any ideas / tips?

I like the Elizabeth Zimmerman stretchy sewn cast off. I'll see if I can find a link.

Ooh, that's a nice link - I seem to remember doing this once for a pair of socks. Took me ages but it worked well. I've started my socks - done a toe and just starting the pattern.

I like the cast off that Grumpina mentioned on her blog last year.
"Work 2 sts in pattern (either knit or purl). Move yarn to back (if the last worked st was a knit, this is already the case). * Transfer the 2 worked sts to the LH needle, and k2togTBL. Work 1 st in pattern (move yarn to back if it was a purl), * repeat between *."
I used it in my Oriel socks & a phone cover
