Anyone with size 8 feetI've been asked to make a pair of socks on behalf of someone else for a gift. She has asked for size 8 but doesn't know what the persons foot measurement is, any ideas?TIA Cathie |

i think it's about 10 inches but i can't find the size chart i usually refer to and my SKS is downstairs... you've tried a websearch i take it? | ||

I'm size 8 and I make mine 10" long. I find a heel flap fits better than a short row heel. | ||

My Dad has size 8 feet - I measured yesterday and the circumference was 10" - can't remember the length though - sorry  Can check when I get home.

Thanks for that I did try a web search last night and it only came up with shoe sizes rather than measurements.

Sometimes when I go shoe shopping I feel as if I'm asking for a really outlandish size. |

I feel like that too. I buy 98% of my shoes in Evans now as they do big shoes too and they do a wider sizes too as my feet aren't just long, they're wide too. If I try on a size 8 anywehre else they're always too small but in Evans I always find shoes that fit. |

DD1 has size 9's  and it's a real challenge trying to find shoes that don't cost the earth for a fussy 16 year old!

I got off lightly because neither of my girls take after me and have easier-to-buy sizes. |
