anyone got size 7 feet? need adviceI want to make some socks for a friend of mine who's going through a really really bad time at the moment. She has size 7 feet.
I've no idea how many stitches to cast on or how long to make them. I've only made socks for size 5 (60 stitches on 2.5mms) and a men's size 9 (68 stitches on 2.5mm). I'm guessing 64 stitches might be about right? Can anyone help with advice please?
If anyone here is a size 7 would you mind measuring your feet for me? Length from heel to toe, and width around foot? I'd be ever so grateful.
Help.

Number of stitches to be cast on depends upon how wide her feet are.
I'm a 7 & my feet are 21cm wide (8 1/4") & 25cm (9 3/4") long.
My feet used to be 8 3/4" wide but I've lost some weight & it's affecting my knitting
I use the technique outlined in the Schurch books & multiply the number of spi by foot width. The pair I'm making at the moment (Opal DK on 2.75mm) gave me 8 spi on a swatch x 8.25" & I've cast on 66 sts per sock.
Hope this helps.

i'm a size 7...I usually just cast on 60sts for lacey socks or 64 for plain and upto 68 for fairisle. I like my socks to be 10ins long from back of heel to toe.

I usually cast on 64 sts for size 7-8 feet That's using the opal/regia type yarns with 2.5mm needles.

Eeek - I must like mine baggy or I'm a tight knitter (which I'm pretty sure I'm not) coz I use 70ish up arount 80 with 2.5mm needles.

My niece has size 7 feet, I cast on 64 and the length of the foot is 75 rows from the back of the foot to the toe shaping.
That's a lovely idea FC
