Agatha Raisin

Just finished the first in the series of the Agatha Raisin books by M C Beaton (who wrote the books the Hamish Macbeth series was based on if you watched that Wink ) It's called The Quiche of Death Laughing

I thought at first I wasn't going to like it as the character seemed anyting but likeable at first but I carried on and am glad I did as it was very good - just a fairly gentle murder mystery set in a Cotswold village but not twee and cosy as you might expect but with a slightly quirky dark humour Laughing Very easy to read if you're looking for something light.

They were dramatised on Radio 4 with Penelope Keith as Agatha Raisin a few years ago but you can get these versions on Audible which I might do as I like Penelope Keith Razz

Cool I started it this morning and have just finished - I couldn't put it down even getting grumpy with DH for talking to me and interrupting Laughing They were on offer in The Works @ £1.99 each or 3 for £5 - I think it was the first 4 in the series Razz Think I might get a few more at the weekend!!

How daft is this... I tried to picture The Works in my head and where I could find it in Loughborough (the nearest town to us) and immediately a mental picture of The Works in Caernarfon popped into my head  Shocked  Shocked And it won't go away!!!  Laughing

We've been into The Works in Caernarfon, although many years ago, and we walked past it on hols this year too so not that strange, but honestly!  Rolling Eyes  Laughing
