One of my knitting New Year resolutions was to get to grips with laceweight yarn, so I'm finally having a go and thought I'd share my progress cos I'm rather pleased with myself
The pattern is Purlescence's Cheshire Cat Stole, which I've found really straightforward and easy to keep track of, and it being on small needles (2.75mm) makes it easier than other lace projects I've tried and failed at. The yarn is Rowan Kidsilk Spray in 576 Vino (yes of COURSE I bought it because of the name ), which is on sale at GK, and Stash too I think. It's very fluffy but not very sheddy, which is good. And I've even managed to put beads on it - smaller than in the pattern, mine are 8/0, because I already had lots of those. Thanks again to Franney and Nevisknitter for their help when I was asking about hook size for beading, much appreciated.
I'm really pleased with it so far, but it'll take me a while to get it finished, maybe by Christmas if I'm lucky!

That's beautiful! - I've just started my first laceweight too - perhaps you psychically co-erced me into joining you! _________________ Claire

That looks great, and what a fab colour
Reminds me I've a laceweight project hibernating too - I've done lace before but not with actual laceweight. I find the yarn a bit of a challenge TBH but so far it has been going quite well. _________________

I reckon it might have been the other way around actually, the urge just hit me out of the blue last week, must've been your fault..... Looking forward to pics of yours, and of dreamcatcher's project and your Cheshire Cat too Binty Maybe we ought to start a Laceweight-along ....? _________________

Keep going, slow and steady wins the race. Think of all those admiring glances at Christmas
