I cant seem to manage to do a clickable link on Blogger. I want to make my links like this: eg. Chrissy in a differnt colour, then if you click on it, it sends you to her website.

I have tried to do it using the links icon, but it just doesnt seem to give me an option to make the link into another name.

What am I doing wrong??? Help, please Sad Confused

you need to use this command

<a href="add url here">Chrissy</a>

Put her url where I typed, leave everything else as is, and that should work ok.

Here's how I do it with Blogger automatically. First click on Compose at the top right. Then highlight the word/s you want to be clicked on to take people to the link. A box will come up with http:// in ready for you to add the rest of the URL or you can simply erase the http:// and copy and paste the full URL that you want in there. Then press okay and you'll see that the word/s that you highlighted are now a different colour which shows that they're now links.

I do it the way KnitYoga does it Claire, but I click the little green thing that looks like a bull. I don't think I've ever done anything in html on my blog ( which of course explains why my buttons don't click Laughing despite jacquie and bernie's excellent advice, I feel like I am trying to learn an unknown language!

Oops, thanks for pointing that out Aknita. I do it so automatically now that, just trying to recall it without doing it, I missed the bit out about clicking the green link icon. Embarassed So, you go into compose mode by clicking on compose, then highlight the text you want to link to, then click the green link button, then put your URL into the box, then press okay. You can then go back into edit html mode so that you can more clearly see what you're doing. Sorry about that!

OK, I'm not explaining this very well.

I go to Compose and clck on the 'link' icon which looks like a bull, then I put in the website and Presto, - a link.

However, what I wanted to do is for the blog page to say Chrissy and the link to go to her page.

Clear as mud??? I dont want the blog page to have the www.brightdyes etc, just for it to say Chrissy., then to click on Chrissy and it goes off to her webpage.

Right, what you do is this, you write Chrissy then highlight it. You have another window open so as you can copy her url. You click the little green bull icon ( he looks like Taurus to me Embarassed ) and it gives you a hyperlink, in the url box at the bottom delete the http bit cos you don't want it twice, add your url, click ok and hey presto!

What you need to do then is to type Chrissy then highlight that then click the html link icon then type in the web address and that should do it Smile
