I cast on for this one yesterday afternoon knowing that I'm going to have to get a move on. So with a full evening and an afternoon spare I've knitted my heart out and finished it a minute ago. It's mate has been cast on and with a bit of luck I can do the leg tonight. I couldn't resist that lovely glow from the tree when I passed it, so strung the sock up anyway!
The yarn is Fortissima Colori Socka Color in shade 251374, knitted on a 2.5mm circular. These will be Mum's once done.
Better get going again.
Tracy

......and that concludes my Christmas sock knitting for this year.
Today was all about sock number two which gave me a bit of trouble as despite being a supposedly identical ball, same label, same colour, same batch number, started in the same place, had smaller width colour bands as I got to the heel, meaning that from there onwards they weren't identical. Nothing to do with tension either, they were physically smaller by at least two rows per band.
Still, I'm sure they will be well loved by their new owner. As for speed, yes I've knitted my fingers into a frenzy over the last couple of days, but I knew that if I didn't get them finished by tomorrow afternoon at the latest then they would be a no go. Now I have to go catch up with a few chores that may have been ignored
