They caused me much grief (the pattern had errors) - but I've learned loads! I've now mastered the magic cast on, and knitting two socks simultaneously on two circs toe up. They're also too small for me so they'll make a nice pressie for a pal who just turned 50.

OOps - the yarn is handpainted sockyarn from Fyberspates and the pattern is a free one from Judy Becker called Snake River Socks.
The faux cable is basically a lace stitch without the yarn overs...
